Can a child travel alone?

Beginning on November 1, 2018, children who are younger than 15 years old must travel with another passenger who is at least 15 years old and may not fly unaccompanied.

For travel booking prior to November 1, 2018 for kids going on a solo trip, you can rest assured that they are in safe hands. Here’s how we get young travelers from departure to arrival without any fuss.

  • For bookings made prior to November 1, 2018, children ages 15-17 may be escorted, though it is not required.  If parents or guardians requested the escort prior to November 1, 2018, all unaccompanied minor policies apply.
  • We never accept unaccompanied minors less than 5 years of age.
  • For bookings made before November 1, 2018, unaccompanied minors can only travel on non-stop flights, excluding international flights.
  • An unaccompanied minor service charge of $110 per direction, per child, will be charged to cover extra handling, and includes an in-flight beverage and a snack.
