Smart luggage—bags with built-in features like USB chargers, GPS tracking, or digital scales—often use lithium-ion batteries. For everyone’s safety, Frontier has specific rules for traveling with these bags.
Smart bags are not allowed if:
• The battery cannot be removed
• The battery exceeds 100 watt-hours (Wh)
• The battery shows any signs of damage or defect
If you're bringing a smart bag with a removable battery:
• Remove the battery before boarding
• Pack it in your carry-on for the entire flight
• Protect the terminals from short circuits (e.g., cover them with tape or use the original packaging or a protective pouch)
At check-in, please let our team know the battery type and size so we can ensure safe handling.
